Guiding the sales force of traditional computer maker ICL into the new territory of open systems. More
Took over the chair when the Chamber was almost moribund and completely revived it.
John lead numerous campaigns, almost all successful, especially one to revive Sudbury's North Street. Within 6 years Sudbury was found to be the best performing town centre in the UK. Sudbury is one of the few small market towns with a thriving retail scene.
He took over a project to provide a town manager; this had dragged on for 10 years. The manager was appointed within 18 months of John's involvement.
On New Years Eve 2004 organising a collection for the boxing day tsunami. It raised £3,300. The collection went on to raise £13,500.
Running the Half Moon Folk Club, Putney during 1973, a club frequented by legends like Ralph McTell, Wizz Jones and Noel Murphy. The gig on Christmas Eve featuring the JST band was reckoned to be one of the true greats.
