John McMillan has a passion to promote business and encourage entrepreneurs. He has been running high tech companies since 1980. He is based in the Ipswich to Cambridge hi-tech corridor. His portfolio ranges from launching computer maker ICL's open system range into central UK government through to creating a software division for a publisher through to setting up several small software houses.
Since 1990 he has served on the committee of the Sudbury and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spending 6 years as Chairman. He is now President of the Chamber.
He presents seminars, briefings, workshops and master classes to entrepreneurs and other on the starting and running of business and marketing. He has been a panel member in a "Dragons Den" event. A number of articles are available for downloading from this web site.
He has carried out assignments that were funded by the European Union, development agencies, councils and universities. These have been to promote both economc development and technology transfer.
