Sharedband is an Ipswich based company which delivers faster Broadband over an existing DSL infrastructure. John set up the Sharedband office and set up the customer billing system.

Professionals World

Professionals World is a new internet directory and centre for quality industry, business, leisure and lifestyle resources. It is designed for professional people in 30 sectors such as marketers, accountants, solicitors, doctors.

John worked with the company, helping to develop the plans and sales messages and bring the directory to a successful launch.

Shaw & Sons

John worked on this project from its inception in 1994 through the main development stage to a user base of 700 in 2003.
Shaws are a publisher who needed to develop I.T. based products but who lacked I.T. skills. John worked with the directors to create a team to create, market and support such a product. He carried out the feasibility study and set up administration, production, marketing and quality systems. To launch the product he set up demonstrations and sales aids. He managed the project for a number of years.

McMillan Technology

John has launched a number of his own products for his software house, McMillan Technology. The main one was a package for control of town planning enforcement. McMillan Technology developed this package in 1988 in conjunction with Guildford Borough Council. John went on to sell it to 20 other councils.  The package is still in use today.

ICL

At the time of John's contract, ICL was Europe's largest computer maker and the dominant supplier of IT to the UK government. John launched several software products for them. He went on to launch their PCs, Unix and office systems to Central Government. He worked with the sales force, designed and gave demonstrations to key customers (including Sir Terence Burns, Permanent Secretary to the Treasury, and set up a marketing team to continue the function permanently.
