John McMillan's Previous Projects
John has been working in the computer and software industry for 30 years.
His projects include:
- Developing an automated billing system for Sharedband, a start-up selling
improved Internet technology. Sharedband launched in 2007, John spent much
time developing a system for a distribution system for BT to sell Sharedband.

- Developing plans and marketing material for Professionals World, an
Internet start up launched in 2007. See

- Development of business plans for other software start ups.
- Working with Universities of Essex and Hertfordshire investigating and
promoting intellectual properties that could be exploited. 15 projects were
progressed, although most were found to be insufficiently advanced.
- Creating a software division for publisher Shaw & Sons, launching the
Forms on Disk product, selling to 750 solicitors and most local

- Developing a town planning enforcement package, setting up a company to
market it and selling it to 21 local councils.
- Launching the ICL PC, Unix and office systems into central UK government
and building a permanent marketing team.
- Developing and marketing stock control and accounting packages for ICL
computers, sold to around 50 customers.
